Starting a book club is a great way to meet new people especially make new mom friends. It also allows you to have some adult time which is hard to come by if you are a full-time mom.
Making new friends adds to your support system. This can improve your mental health because you have a much needed break to look forward to. Being a mom and having a full schedule, you might ask how do I start a book club? Don’t worry, it doesn’t take much and is not costly.
Starting a book club is super easy and before you know it, you will have a well-established book club.

1. Type of Books
The first thing that you need to consider is what type of book you want to read in your club. There is a wide selection of books from mystery, sci-fi, romance, and history. There is fiction and nonfiction to consider as well. When deciding your choice of book make sure that it is something that you will enjoy reading. The point of a book club is being enticed by the book and the discussion.
2. How Many Members
Before you send out your invitations, first decide how many people you want in your book club. It can be family, friends, or new people. The best book club has a diverse group of people. Having people with different views and opinions will make the book discussion more interesting. People in your book club should be able to attend most meetings and keep up with the readings.
3. Location of Book Club
Pick a locations that is ideal for the members of your club. Most book clubs are hosted at the creator’s home and then rotated each week so every member has a turn hosting. The location should be available for discussions and with little to no interruptions. When you are having book club, try to get a baby-sitter or put the kids to bed so you don’t miss a a part of the discussion.

Take notes while reading and during book club. This will help you keep up with your notes and thoughts.
