Hair loss after pregnancy can be difficult to manage. Although it is normal for a woman to lose hair after giving birth, excessive hair loss can become an issue during your recovery. 1. Continue Taking Your Prenatal Vitamin
Although you are no longer expecting, taking your prenatal vitamins can have some added benefits. Prenatal vitamins can help restore your nutrients you loss during delivery. It can also help supplement the nutrients you get from food. Having a surplus of nutrients can help rebuild the strength of your hair, reducing shedding and hair loss. If you are breastfeeding, it is recommending that you continue to take prenatal vitamins. It will promote milk production and hair growth.
2. Avoid Hairstyles that Causes Tension
While you are trying to regrow or reduce hair loss, it is important that you do not put tension on your hair. Tension is detrimental to your hair because it damages hair follicles. Hair extensions and braids can cause tension. When your hair is too tight, it is pulling the hair out from follicle and can cause scarring. Instead of hair extensions and braids, try letting your hair down. This will ensure that your hair is relaxed and can breathe.

While trying to grow your hair, you do not want to be counterproductive by using the wrong products.
5. Keep Your Scalp & Hair Clean
A clean scalp gives your hair a nice environment to thrive in. Make sure that you are washing your hair at least twice a month. If you suffer from dandruff or other scalp conditions, adjust this to your situation. Use a shampoo that cleans your hair and scalp but does not irritate you or causes flare ups. Having a poor diet can cause dandruff build up so be cautious about what you are eating.

10. Reduce Stress
Stress is one of the most common factor that causes women to lose their hair. When you are stressed, it causes your hair follicles to go in to sleep mode. This means that they are not actively growing or taking in nutrients, causing hair loss. Stress can also make you literally pull your own hair out. If you notice that you are playing with your hair more often or pulling in out, it means that you are under a tremendous amount of stress. One of the best things you can do to promote hair growth and reduce hair loss is relax. Making time for yourself will help not only with your hair, but with your mental health as well.
